On 9 May 2019 we participated in a new volunteer and training day in coordination with the LIFE ARCOS Project, from the Directorate-General of Natural Environment of the Regional Ministry of Rural Affairs, Fisheries and Food of the Government of Cantabria.
New activity day to clean up the Berria dunes and to remove invasive exotic flora with inmates from the El Dueso Penitentiary Centre.
Volunteer activities were carried out in the site SCA Dunas de Liencres y Estuario del Pas. Along with the elimination of invasive species (Chamaesyce polygonifolia) and cleaning up of wastes, a census of the only existing population of the threatened species Euphorbia peplis was done.
Volunteering activity with the collaboration of inmates from the El Dueso Penitentiary Centre as part of the NACAR Programme (Nature and Prison) and encompassed within the LIFE+ARCOS programme.
