    Todavía estás a tiempo de conseguir una de estas camisetas. El día 21 de mayo celebramos el día Europeo de la Red Natura 2000 con una jornada de voluntariado en las dunas de Verdicio, para retirar especies invasoras. Todos los participantes se llevarán a casa una de estas camisetas. Podéis ir pensando cual es la que más o gusta.

    Puedes apuntarte en este sitio y rellenar el formulario de inscripción. No olvides poner tu nombre y dni para que puedas utilizar el seguro que hemos contratado.

    Te recordamos que tenemos abierto un concurso de fotografía, así que participa mandando tus fotos. Aprovecha el fin de semana y acércate a una playa para hacer fotos de sus plantas y mándalas a nuestro facebook o compártelas en twitter (nuestra cuenta es @infoArcosLife) con el hastag #Nat2000DayArcos.

    Hemos contactado con COGERSA y el día 21 instalarán unos contenedores para que también podamos retirar la basura que encontremos en la playa.  COGERSA nos proporciona material: guantes y chalecos, así que no será necesario que llevemos desde casa nada más de material.

    You are just in time to get one of these t-shirts. On 21 May we are celebrating European Natura 2000 Day with a volunteer day in Verdicio to remove invasive species. All participants can take one of these t-shirts home. Start thinking of which one you like best.

    You can sign up on this website and fill out this registration form. Don’t forget to add your name and ID number so you will be covered by our insurance policy.

     Remember to participate in our photography contest. Make the most of this weekend! Go to the beach and take photos of plants there. Send them to us on our Facebook page or share them on Twitter (our handle is @infoArcosLife) with the hashtag #Nat2000DayArcos

    We contacted COGERSA and, on the 21st, they installed some dumpsters so we can throw out the rubbish we collect from the beach. COGERSA is providing us with material: gloves and vests, so you do not have to bring any material from home.

    LIFE+ARCOS en Cantabria celebra el día Europeo de la Red Natura 2000

    natura-200da_arcosComo ya os hemos comentado anteriormente, desde el proyecto Life+ARCOS celebramos este año el día Europeo de la Red Natura 2000 con varias actividades en diferentes sistemas dunares del litoral cantábrico.

    En Cantabria, Life+ARCOS estará presente con los siguientes eventos:

    1. 10 y 12 de mayo, actividad dirigida (por los monitores del Centro de Interpretación PN, Red Cántabra de Desarrollo Rural) de interpretación y pequeña plantación en las dunas de Berria (Santoña) con escolares de Centros de Argoños y Santoña. Puede que haya algún centro más.
    2. 12 de mayo, actividad NACAR (Naturaleza y Cárcel) en las dunas de Berria (Santoña), retirada de Arctotheca calendula y limpieza de residuos. Dirección General del Medio Natural del Gobierno de Cantabria (Lourdes González).
    3. 19 de mayo, conferencia divulgativa en el Centro de Interpretación (Santoña) del PN de las marismas de Santoña, Victoria y Joyel sobre el proyecto LIFE ARCOS. Técnicos de la Dirección General del Medio Natural del Gobierno de Cantabria (Jesús Varas y Lourdes González).
    4. 20 de mayo, actividad de eliminación de plantas invasoras con asociaciones de discapacitados AMICA (seguro), SERCA y AMPROS (estas dos últimas por confirmar). Junto al Brusco (dunas de Berria, Santoña) en una zona en la que trabajaron durante el 2015.

    As we have commented  before, this year Life+ARCOS is marking the occasion of the European Natura 2000 Day by organising various activities on different dune systems along the Cantabrian coast.

    In Cantabria, Life+ARCOS will be present in the following events:

    1. 10th and 12th May, guided activity (led by instructors from the Natural Park Interpretation Centre, Cantabrian Rural Development Network) involving explanations and a mini planting session in the Berria dunes (Santoña) with pupils from the Argoños and Santoña primary schools. There may be more centres involved.
    2. 12th May, NACAR activity (Nature and Prison) on the Berria dunes (Santoña), removing Arctotheca calendulaand picking up waste. Directorate General of the Environment from the Government of Cantabria (Lourdes González).
    3. 19th May, informative conference in the Santoña, Victoria and Joyel Marshes Natural Park Interpretation Centre (Santoña) about the LIFE ARCOS Project. Specialists from the Directorate General of the Environment from the Government of Cantabria (Jesús Varas and Lourdes González).
    4. 20th May, activity to remove invasive plants in collaboration with associations for people with disabilities AMICA (confirmed), SERCA and AMPROS (the latter two pending confirmation). Next to the Brusco hill (Berria dunes, Santoña) in an area that was worked on in 2015.

    El sábado 21 de mayo de 2016 el equipo de LIFE+ARCOS te invita a que participes con nosotros en una acción de voluntariado para eliminar alguna especies exóticas invasoras en la Playa de Verdicio (Luanco, Asturias), espacio protegido que está incluido dentro de la Zona de Especial Conservación Cabo Busto-Luanco (ZEC ES1200055), y por lo tanto forma parte de la Red de Espacios protegidos incluidos en la Red Natura 2000.

    Si no vives en Asturias, Life+ARCOS también celebra otras actividades este día en Cantabria y el País Vasco. Sigue atento a nuestra página porque te informaremos de ello en breve.

    ¿Qué haremos?

    La idea es que podamos pasar una jornada de sábado en un espacio natural protegido y que podamos ayudar a mejorar su estado de conservación, haciendo uso de la participación ciudadana. En Verdicio estaremos varios miembros del equipo LIFE+ARCOS, T. E. Díaz, Álvaro Bueno, Nacho Felpete, Elena Fernández y más gente. Os diremos algunas cosas sobre el espacio y os daremos indicaciones de como eliminar algunas especies invasoras que son problemáticas y fáciles quitar manualmente.

    ¿Cuánto dura?

    En principio al 11:00 am. todo el mundo intersado debería estar ya en Verdicio. Nuestra intención es que aquellos que os queráis quedar a comer allí lo podáis hacer y aquellos que tengáis que marchar a casa, no tengáis problema, así que a eso de las 3:00 pm daremos por finalizada la jornada.

    Horario: 11:00 a 15:00

    ¿Cómo participar?

    Rellena este boletín de inscripción para que puedas disfrutar del seguro que contratamos con la Universidad de Oviedo. Es muy importante que tengamos los nombres de los participantes y su número del documento nacional de identidad. En Verdicio os pediremos que firméis una hoja de participación para asegurarnos de que sois vosotros.

    Utilizad los campos del formulario para darnos información complementaria como por ejemplo, si podéis compartir coche para llegar, si venís acompañados con niños y, lo más importante: una dirección de correo electrónico o de teléfono para poder contactar con vosotros.

    On Saturday 21st May 2016 the Life+ARCOS team invites you to join us to carry out volunteering action to remove some invasive exotic species on the Verdicio Beach (Luanco, Asturias), a protected space that is included within the Cabo Busto-Luanco Special Area of Conservation (SAC ES1200055), and therefore is part of the Network of Protected Spaces included in the Natura 2000 Network.

    If you do not live in Asturias, Life+ARCOS is also holding other activities on the same day in Cantabria and in the Basque Country. Stay tuned to our website where we will post more information shortly.

    What will we be doing?

    The idea is to be able to spend a Saturday in a natural protected space, and to help improve its state of conservation, with the assistance of citizen participation. Various members of the Life+ARCOS team will be present in Verdicio, T. E. Díaz, Álvaro Bueno, Nacho Felpete, Elena Fernández and other people. We will talk about the space and will give you instructions on how to remove some particularly problematic invasive species that are tricky to remove manually.

    How long will it last?

    The plan is for everyone interested in participating to already be in Verdicio by 11:00 am. Our intention is to close the day by around 3 pm, so that participants can either stay to eat or return home with no problem.

    Schedule: 11:00 to 15:00

    How can I take part?

    Fill out this registration form so you will be covered by the insurance that we take out with the University of Oviedo. It is essential for us to have the names of participants and their national identity document. In Verdicio we will ask you to sign a participation sheet to make sure our list coincides.

    Use the form fields to give any additional information such as if you can share a car to reach the location, for example, or if you will be accompanied by children, and above all: an e-mail address or telephone number so we can contact you.

    The Life+ARCOS team from the University of Oviedo  met up today, 5th May 2016, with experts from the Department of Rural Development and Natural Resources of the Principality of Asturias, with the aim of revealing the action plans that have been drawn up for the Asturian enclaves of Barayo, Verdicio and Vega.

    The meeting was attended by the following representatives from the Directorate General of Natural Resources (Protected Spaces and Biodiversity Service): Victor Vázquez, Aurelio Antuña and Susana García. Attendees from the University of Oviedo-Atlantic Botanical Garden were Alvaro Bueno and J.Ignacio Alonso.

    The main actions to be performed were revealed, the action calendar was revised and the state of permits and request processes were revised in order to go ahead with the volunteering day to mark the European Natura 2000 Day.

    El equipo de Life+ARCOS de la  Universidad de Oviedo se ha reunido hoy día 5 de mayo de 2016 con técnicos de la Consejería de de Desarrollo Rural y Recursos Naturales del Principado de Asturias, con el fin de exponer los planes de acción que se han redactado para los enclaves asturianos de Barayo, Verdicio y Vega.

    En la reunión han estado presentes, por parte de la Dirección General del Recursos Naturales (Servicio de Espacios Protegidos y Biodiversidad): Victor Vázquez , Aurelio Antuña y Susana García. Por parte de la Universidad de Oviedo-Jardín Botánico Atlántico, asistieron Alvaro Bueno y J.Ignacio Alonso.

    Se expusieron las principales actuaciones a realizar, se revisó el calendario de actuaciones y se revisó el estado de la tramitación de permisos y solicitudes para poder llevar a cabo la jornada de voluntariado para celebrar el día europeo de la Red Natura 2000.
